Microneedling with PRP
Your skin is constantly being exposed to the elements of life – sun, pollution, and other damaging agents. Over time, you develop wrinkles, ne-lines, hyperpigmentation, and other skin conditions. Fortunately, American Medical Center is proud to offer microneedling with PRP injections.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as skin needling, or “collagen induction therapy,” is a non-abrasive, non-chemical procedure that uses a device lined with fine needles to create controlled punctures on the surface of the skin. Your body reacts to these punctures by producing new collagen and elastin to repair the channels.
Who Should Get Microneedling?
The ideal candidate is someone who does not have serious scarring or imperfections on their face. Microneedling is designed for healthy adults who have minor skin conditions that they would like to improve. Microneedling is a non-invasive procedure, so individuals looking to improve deep facial creases or sagging skin, should consider our HALO laser treatments. lovely woman with nice skin
What is PRP?
PRP stands for “Platelet-Rich-Plasma. ” A small amount of the patient’s blood is extracted and then processed to produce a solution that contains high growth factors. This solution is then re-injected back into the face at multiple sites and applied topically, as well. The result is the release of growth factors that stimulate the treated area and produce collagen, making your face appear smoother and more youthful.
Is Microneedling painful?
Microneedling produces very mild discomfort. Most facilities will use a topical anesthetic to keep you comfortable during the procedure. While the procedure is minimally invasive with no downtime, you should be careful with exposure to sunlight. Be sure to wear sunscreen until your face is completely healed.
